PostSecret..

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

I was Stumbling just now and I stumbled upon something very very interesting. Take a look.

Weblink: www.postsecert.com, Wikipedia
PostSecert is an action started up by a man called Frank Warren I believe. Then I thought to myself.. This video does bring up alot of things that we keep secret. I especially liked this pharse:

“There are two kinds of secrets. Secrets we hide from people and secrets we hide from ourselves”.

We all have secrets. We can’t deny them. Don’t lie to yourself now.. :) There are things that we want to hide from people. There are things that we do not want to admit to ourselves. And as the video shows, we should explore the possibility of sharing them with someone. Sharing your concerns and your fears with people will help to release the burden. Heck, it could even release it completely. Think about it.. Think what these people did.. To write down their secrets.. To jot down their fears and mail it to someone.. To talk about it to the world.. Can we do that?? Are we brave enough for that??

Did You Know 2.0

How true are this facts and figures? It’s only as true as you want to believe in it right?? What really interest me was this:

Today’s 21 year olds have:
Watched 20,000 hours of TV
Played 10,000 hours of video games
Talked 10,000 hours over the phone
250,000 emails or Instant Messengers

I don’t remember watching that much. Never would I even dream of myself hoarding TV that much. Maybe PC would be higher than TV but never that close as that value.. Or maybe I have came from a slightly over the age whereby I’ve missed much of those. 10,000 hours on the phone? NEVER! Impossible for me. I would not even come close to 500 hours let alone 1000 hours and even more for 10,000. What are kids talking over the phones these days? Or are these stats of the Western continents?

Another interesting thing

Years it took to reach a market audience of 50 million:
Radio: 38 years
TV: 13 years
Internet: 4 years

Another one of those interesting things. As far as I can remember, I got my 1st PC in the year of 1997? Something like that. Those were the days where 56k modem ruled. Now Shitmyx rules.. Yea.. Shitmyx..

Yet another fascinating phrase

Third generation fibre optics has recently been tested that push 10 trillion bits per second down a fibre.

WHERE ARE YOU SHITMYX?
